Upcycling

We've been busy making:

A new door mat, from a meal sack and a bag of fabric scraps

And a budda - a mat for sleeping outside (or just for sitting on outside), again, made from meal sacks which are sewn together using the thread from the sacks

A Few Days Away

We had a couple of days away from it all in Livingstone.
We went on the train, which takes 6 hours - the bus takes 2!  It was a very relaxing experience in a sleeper, which was the same price as the bus. The only draw back was that it got into Livingstone at 4am, and back into Choma at 3am, so not the best time to be arriving!
On the doors there was a notice advising passengers not to jump out of the moving train.

We spent the day sitting by the river

And the evening watching the sun set

Three Frogs

This one came to visit one day.  It has red feet

I found this one in the shower room one day.  It pops back from time to time

This one lives in the toilet, sometimes under the rim, sometimes in the cistern.  It has also joined me in the shower!

The Last Rains

Here are some very wet pictures:

Since this bit of weather, we've had a few days of overcast, drizzle and COLD.  This bit of moisture is called the 'bye bye rains'.  It's now bright and clear again and a bit warmer.  The rains have finished.
