New moon

Sinazongwe

We’ve just had a lovely break away from Choma on the shores of Lake Kariba.  It was quiet, often the only sounds were water and wind, with lots of open spaces.  We saw a couple of crocodiles and a hippo and various birds and some monkeys.

We came home very well rested and very glad to have had the opportunity to sit by some water.

School inspection

As promised, some pictures of some of the classrooms ready for inspection.

GRADE 5

GRADE 4

PRE-GRADE

On Monday there was a meeting of PWC headmasters and supporters from TEAM MINISTRIES in America, at the school.  It was useful for the school in that TEAM MINISTRIES have decided that they will now give support there, in the form of equipment sent from the USA

The inspection of the school was not what we had thought it would be, but still profitable.

The Grant Aiding application continues.  Amos and the Pastor will be visiting the newly appointed District Education Board Secretary and the (also newly appointed) Provincial Education Office Secretary, in order to make contact and to give them each a copy of the school’s brochure.  You may remember that in February they gave copies of the brochure to their predecessors.

Bikes

Some American’s from TEAM MINISTRIES in Kansas have been visiting.  They are responsible for the two shipping containers outside our front door that periodically get filled with school equipment, which is then distributed to the various PWC schools in Zambia.  They came to see how the work is going and also to check out the school here to see if it will also be included in their programme.  Included in what they ship over from the States are reconditioned bikes.  One of the team explained to us that these are for use by teachers, pastors “and people from the UK who are doing a lot of walking around the communities in order to serve”, so we could choose bikes to suit us!

We are hugely grateful for this, not so much that it will save our legs, but it will save a lot of time being able to cycle some of the long distances we sometimes walk to visit people.  It is a real token of God’s goodness to us, an answer to a prayer that was not even prayed!
