  1. "Pretty blue flower" I would guess is a member of the campanulaceae family - one of the many lobelias that there are. "Pretty lilac flower" I don't know. I've trawled through my field guides but I guess they are too region-specific for Zambia. As to jacarandas ... we had a saying at Rhodes Univ. that if the jacaranda trees have come into flower [particularly the one in African Street by the SABC] you should already be swotting for year-end exams!
