Southern Masked Weaver nest building |
These are our neighbours, they live in the hole in one of the mango trees behind the house:
Black-collared Barbet |
"Peepo!" |
A tree full of egrets and weaver nests, with a cormorant on the right |
Coral tree |
Coral tree up close |
We don't know what these are, if you know or can find out, please let us know:
Pretty blue flower |
Pretty lilac flower |
"Pretty blue flower" I would guess is a member of the campanulaceae family - one of the many lobelias that there are. "Pretty lilac flower" I don't know. I've trawled through my field guides but I guess they are too region-specific for Zambia. As to jacarandas ... we had a saying at Rhodes Univ. that if the jacaranda trees have come into flower [particularly the one in African Street by the SABC] you should already be swotting for year-end exams!
